We actively seek talented individuals dedicated to enabling low-cost wind energy to join our rapidly growing Pampa team.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Technical and Design Support:
o Provide technical assistance and support in the design and implementation of welding processes.
o Work closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to optimize welding processes and ensure project success.
2. Training:
o Train welders and welding operators, ensuring they achieve the required qualifications.
o Develop and execute comprehensive training plans tailored to welders and welding operators.
o Create performance improvement programs based on welder evaluations.
3. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify and resolve welding issues using continuous improvement tools.
o Monitor and analyze defect rates by area, maintaining updated welding performance logs.
o Contribute to the development of innovative welding solutions or enhancing existing processes to improve productivity and quality.
4. Auditing and Compliance:
o Conduct random welding audits to ensure adherence to relevant welding procedures and standards.
o Perform visual inspections of welds when required.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
o Prepare, review, and maintain welding procedure specifications (WPS), welder performance qualification (WPQ), and welding performance qualification records (PQR).
o Use MS Office tools for data compilation, reporting, and communication.
o Review, organize, and validate project documentation.
6. Equipment and Process Optimization:
o Operate and maintain Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and semi-automatic welding equipment.
o Determine and requisition necessary tools and materials for each process.
o Provide technical support for welding equipment.
7. Fabrication and Repair:
o Assemble and construct system assemblies as per project requirements.
o Prepare and weld test plates using various consumables, equipment, and positions.
o Recommend and approve repairs as needed.
8. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
o Comply with all company policies and HSE procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Education and Experience:
o Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and/or equivalent experience in the related field.
o High level of technical ability, with expertise in welding techniques, equipment, and consumables.
· Communication and Problem-Solving:
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to solve complex problems and relate technical knowledge to specific applications.
· Physical Requirements:
o Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
o Ability to stand for extended periods, including in uncomfortable positions.
o Comfortable working in varied weather conditions, heights, and confined or contaminated areas.
o Willing to get hands-on and work in potentially dirty environments.
Additional Requirements:
o Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.
o Flexibility to perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
o The primary schedule is a day shift aligned with the production plan. However, flexibility is required, as some days or weeks may involve extended work hours. Additionally, the role may occasionally require weekend shifts to meet production demands, rotating schedule, and temporary assignments on a night shift.
